The Role

We are seeking a Lease Advisory Surveyor (appointing from Surveyor up to Senior Surveyor level) to join the expanding Cambridge Lease Consultancy team.

In this role, you will deliver strategic, commercially focused advice across a varied commercial portfolio—spanning offices, R&D/life sciences, industrial, and retail assets. Working alongside market-leading Partners, you will manage landlord and tenant instructions, negotiate complex lease events, and directly influence asset value for top-tier clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rent Reviews & Lease Renewals: Lead end-to-end negotiations for rent reviews, lease renewals, and dispute resolution instructions across commercial property types.
• Lease Restructuring: Devise and execute value-enhancing lease re-gears and surrender/re-grant strategies to support client asset management goals.
• Third-Party Dispute Resolution: Prepare detailed expert reports and submissions for Arbitrators and Independent Experts.
• Client Advisory: Provide clear, data-led strategic advice on lease terms, market rent trends, and risk management to institutional investors, Cambridge colleges, and occupier clients.
• Market Research & Valuations: Collaborate closely with the broader commercial agency and valuation teams to leverage market intelligence and execute high-yield outcomes.

About You

• Professional Accreditation: MRICS qualified (or approaching final assessment).
• Experience: Proven experience within commercial property lease advisory, landlord & tenant, or general practice professional services.
• Negotiation & Commercial Acumen: Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms for both landlord and occupier clients.
• Local Market Insight: Knowledge of the Cambridge and East Anglia commercial property market (or a strong desire to relocate to the region) is beneficial.
• Communication: Highly articulate, with superior report writing skills and the confidence to manage client relationships directly.
