Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer

Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £48,000–£52,000
Hours: 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts (days and nights)

An FM provider is recruiting a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer for a high-profile commercial office building in Edinburgh city centre.

The role covers general electrical and mechanical maintenance across the building, working as part of a shift team to keep the site running smoothly around the clock.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across electrical and mechanical services
  • Fault find on lighting, small power, pumps, motors and HVAC equipment
  • Carry out plant room inspections and routine checks each shift
  • Respond to breakdowns and out-of-hours issues
  • Complete shift handovers and maintenance records
  • Support planned works and liaise with subcontractors
  • Carry out basic fabric repairs where needed

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical or Mechanical / equivalent
  • Multi-skilled building services experience
  • Comfortable working a shift rota including nights
  • Good fault-finding ability across electrical and mechanical systems
