Building Services Technician – Multi-Skilled
Location: South West London
Salary: £55,326 per annum
Shift Pattern: 4 On 4 Off – Earlies & Lates
Employment Type: Permanent
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Multi-Skilled Building Services Technician to join the engineering team at one of London’s most prestigious and technically complex venues.
This position requires a genuinely multi-skilled engineer with a strong and stable background within building services maintenance. Candidates can come from either an electrical or mechanical bias but must be comfortable working across both disciplines.
Due to the requirements of the position, applicants must hold a relevant Level 3 qualification and live within the M25.
The Role
Working as part of the on-site engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining the mechanical and electrical services throughout a large and complex building.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Attending reactive faults and breakdowns
- Maintaining both mechanical and electrical building services
- Working on HVAC and heating systems
- Plumbing maintenance and associated plant
- Monitoring and operating the Building Management System (BMS)
- Maintaining life safety systems
- Fault finding and diagnosing technical issues
- Managing engineering equipment and stock
- Ensuring all works comply with relevant health & safety requirements
- Working effectively alongside the wider engineering team
Shift Pattern
The position operates on a 4 on 4 off rotation consisting of:
- 2 x Day Shifts – 07:00–17:30
- 2 x Late Shifts – 16:00–02:00
- Followed by 4 days off
Transport home via Uber is provided following the 02:00 finish for employees living within the M25.
Essential Requirements
To be considered, candidates must have:
- Level 3 City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Building Services
- Strong experience within commercial building services maintenance
- Genuine multi-skilled M&E capabilities
- Experience maintaining a variety of mechanical and electrical systems
- Previous experience working with BMS systems
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
- A good, stable employment history
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Must live within the M25
- Additional certifications such as PAF, PASMA, IOSH, L8 or CSCS would be advantageous.

- £55,326 basic salary
